Building Communities Through Eden

Eden Farnworth and Eden Top Valley

Right across the country, our incredible Eden teams are continuing to share Jesus’ love in word and action with some of the toughest-to-reach communities.

In Farnworth (Bolton), our team leaders, Gail and Sandra, have been running fortnightly events where their neighbours can come to chat and relax. One lady who’s been regularly coming along is Chantelle. She’s loved being part of the events and getting to chat with the team but has always been against hearing more about God and hasn’t wanted to come to church. However, last month, Chantelle’s mum texted the team leaders saying that Chantelle was coming to church that day! Since then, she’s been along every Sunday, desperate to hear more about Jesus!

Eden Top Valley (Nottingham) have also been stepping out with community events and are seeing God do amazing things. For the last two years, they’ve been running their hot chocolate outreach where they give out free hot chocolates to young people on Fridays as they walk home from school.

Having got to know loads of young people, the Eden team have launched a new Friday night youth group – Friday Hub – that’s all about telling them more about Jesus. Each week, they’re seeing more and more young people turn up, eager not just for community but to ask their questions about Christianity. ‘I want to hear more about Jesus,’ is what they tell the Eden team time and again.

And as the young people hear about Jesus, they’re responding to the gospel. The Eden Top Valley team have so many wanting to explore faith further, that they’re just about to launch a Youth Alpha course at Friday Hub! The team also hope to run an Alpha course for others in their community in the coming months as the young people’s families are also being impacted by Jesus.
